The CLR is an award-winning national literary arts magazine that has been publishing innovative poetry, prose, and possibility texts from authors around the globe since 1997. In 2018, the CLR received an Oregon literary fellowship for publishers from Literary Arts. We are a faculty-supported, student-run  publication, whose editorial and production home resides in the English Department at Clackamas Community College.

Our reading period is from June 1st to September 30th, with annual publication in the spring. Per reading period, please send only one (1) prose or possibility manuscript (4,000 words maximum), or up to three (3) poems. While simultaneous submissions are A-OK, we do not accept unsolicited submissions that have been previously published in print or online. And we have zero interest in or tolerance for AI-generated work. If you submit work with us and it is subsequently accepted by another publication, please withdraw it here in Submittable or email us at clr@clackamas.edu.

To ensure our non-profit, student-run publication continues to thrive, we ask for a small reading fee ($3) for electronic submissions. We also offer an optional reading fee ($10) that will include a copy of the upcoming publication, hot off the press and shipped right to your U.S. postal address.

If you don't want to use this submission manager, we understand. That's why we still accept physical manuscripts the old school way, free of charge. Click here for details.
